Raised on four anthemion feet
Hand chased border with flowers, c-scrolls and palmettos
To the centre a hand engraved crest of a ram over a crown with Latin motto Non vi sed virtute Not by force but by virtue - English Ramsbottom family (?) -
Fully marked London, 1832;
Maker William Ker Reid: the firm established in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1788 by Christian Ker Reid, continued by his son William Ker Reid (1787-1868) and is known as Reid & Sons;
Duty mark with profile portrait of George IV reigning monarch.
